They’re back. Again.
Paradise Vendors’ reunion last year at PCMH was an EPIC success. Playing to a jam-packed crowd, the Vendors rocked originals from their first CD, debuted 5 new original songs, and covered a dozen of the classics that made them the toast of the East Coast music scene in the late 90s. Formed in the mid ’90s by Mark Ranalli (vocals and guitar), Bill Pollock (bass and vocals), Eric Stockman (guitar and vocals) and Mike Catalano (drums and vocals), the Vendors entertained audiences up and down the East Coast from ’95-‘02. They played Toad’s Place more than a dozen times and had an equal or greater number of beer-soaked sessions at the Frog Pond. Their CD “How Do You Like Them Apples” garnered local radio play, earning them gigs at CBGBs, The Bitter End, and The Elbow Room in Greenwich Village. Greed, jealousy, drugs, wine and women fueled their break-up. The band had not played together since 2002 when they took the stage at Park City. The result was a joyful and energetic performance from four musical kindred spirits, with a little too much bourbon after the show. Ok, a lot too much bourbon.
The calls for another “reunion” show have been relentless. The band has been writing and recording in the year since that eventful June night, and will debut even more originals for the 2023 reunion show. They aim to make it another night to remember for the fan base, old and new, and the bourbon be damned.
In their brief but impactful run, Paradise Vendors dominated the Connecticut original music scene from 1996-2001. Formed by Mark Ranalli (guitars/vocals), Bill Pollack (bass/vocals), Eric Stockman (vocals/guitar) and Mike Catalano (drums/vocals), the band entertained fans up and down the East Coast: CGBG, Toads Place, Bitter End and countless beer-soaked dives between Portland and New Jersey. It was epic. Their debut and only CD, How Do You Like Them Apples?, garnered them local attention and a couple of “we almost made it” gigs at the Elbow Room. Wine, women, drugs, jealousy, debt and broken guitars fueled their untimely break up. It was epic. Reunited in 2022, the Vendors rocked a packed Park City Music Hall and return now for another show at their favorite reunion venue. It will be epic.
